Our Mission and Brotherhood

The Shield is a national child protection movement led by outlaw bikers and community members dedicated to safeguarding children from abuse and exploitation. Our brotherhood operates across Great Britain, driven by honour, discipline, and a mission to rectify systemic failures.

We serve vulnerable children, their families, and communities, focusing on high-risk areas where predators thrive. Our team consists of dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by a commitment to ensure that no child faces danger alone.

What we do

The Shield is a Community Interest Company (CIC) created to protect children, families, and vulnerable people — especially where the system fails them.

At this stage, our volunteers operate via WhatsApp groups while we wait for the launch of our emergency Shield app. This is real-time protection, boots on the ground, available when needed most.

Why You Matter

This is not a spectator movement. This isn’t politics. This is purpose.

Child Patrols

Our dedicated members patrol high-risk areas to ensure the safety of children. We respond quickly to reports of abuse or neglect and provide immediate support to vulnerable youth.

Community Engagement

The Shield works closely with local communities, schools, and organisations to raise awareness about child safety. We organise events and provide resources to empower families and youth.

Intel Gathering

We collect and log vital intelligence about potentially dangerous environments. This information helps protect children and drives our initiatives to address problem areas and unsafe businesses.

Donate or Support - The Shield

We are a self funded organisation and always looking for support to help us on our journey to protect and make our streets and children safer.

How it Works?

Step 1

Every active volunteer must become a Service Member (£55/year).

This small fee covers operational running costs: insurance, DBS checks, training, platform maintenance and more.

We’re a non-profit — no wages, no gimmicks. Every pound supports the mission

Step 2

You gain access to our Members-Only Forum

Once you sign up, you’ll access the Shield system:

All UK counties in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are listed when county managers for the areas are assigned and made live

You will be assigned to your chosen region

As local groups grow, we begin training and activating your area

Step 3

You choose your role

To see a list of available roles click here Available Roles

Right now, our Admin team are working through all the applications and you will be contacted in due course (Please be patiant as we they have a huge list of applications to work through)

Over time, County and Town Managers will manage local recruitment.

Step 4

You show up

Once trained and cleared, you begin your role — whether that’s patrolling a hotspot, managing the forums, gathering intel, or running DBS checks.

And when your region is ready to go live — Chris Hargreaves, founder of The Shield, will personally travel down to open your area, bringing with him a full crew of outlaw bikers and committed brothers of the Shield.

Chris brings 22 years of outlaw biker experience, 10 years of working with trauma and addiction, and a strong reputation as a successful life coach.

He’s walked the dark roads most fear to face. And now, he leads others in protecting the next generation.
