  • Maintain secure records of known risk zones and individuals.

About the Role

Summary: Ensure all Shield actions, policies, and staff operate within UK legal frameworks.
Reports To: Founder / National Coordinator

Key Duties

  • Draft and review documents, conduct, and procedures.
  • Advise on potential risks or public complaints.
  • Train team leaders in legal boundaries.
  • Ensure legal defence processes exist for all Shield action.

Requirements

  • Qualified legal background or advisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, protest, and privacy law.
  • Clear communicator who can simplify legal concepts.

About the Role

Summary: Uphold protection for all children and vulnerable individuals within The Shield’s reach.
Reports To: Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Key Duties

  • Ensure all members have completed safeguarding training.
  • Respond to concerns or breaches of safeguarding practice.
  • Maintain contact with local authorities when required.
  • Support education and awareness among street team.

Requirements

  • Safeguarding trained (Level 2+ preferred).
  • Calm and authoritative under pressure.
  • Able to manage sensitive situations responsibly.

Summary: Provide emotional support and guidance to both Shield members and community clients.
Reports To: County Coordinator / DSL

Key Duties

  • Be a listening post for distress, burnout, or trauma.
  • Signpost individuals to relevant external services.
  • Track wellness trends across patrols and teams.
  • Support victims during Shield response follow-ups.

  • Experience in mental health, coaching, or social care.
  • Non-judgemental and deeply empathetic approach.

Intel & Operations

About the Role

Summary: Support the Shield’s efforts to monitor, track, and report on risk areas and persons of interest.
Reports To: National Intelligence Lead

Key Duties

  • Monitor known offender zones and public risk spaces.
  • Keep secure records of relevant intel.
  • Feed data into Shield app response teams.
  • Flag trends or threats to national coordinator.

Requirements

  • Discreet, analytical, and trustworthy.
  • Experience in research or surveillance preferred.
  • Able to follow legal data practices.

  • Maintain safety until police or guardians arrive.
  • Report each alert and resolution back to admin.
  • Uphold legal boundaries of intervention.

Requirements

  • Reliable and grounded under pressure.
  • Basic self-defence training preferred.
  • Able to remain calm in emergencies.

About the Role

Summary: Oversee all Shield activity within a county and ensure compliance, structure, and communication.
Reports To: National Coordinator

Key Duties

  • Support town managers and track training.
  • Ensure teams comply with legal and safeguarding standards.
  • Host monthly meetings and submit county reports.
  • Mediate any local complaints or issues.

Requirements

  • Leadership and community management experience.
  • Strong communicator with organisation skills.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and Shield principles.

About the Role

Summary: Run a local Shield unit, coordinating volunteers, patrols, and public communication.
Reports To: County Manager

Key Duties

  • Organise patrol rotas, check-ins, and local WhatsApp updates.
  • Onboard new members and ensure they receive training.
  • Respond to local complaints or PR needs.
  • Report local insights to county level.

About the Role

  • Able to stay calm and not provoke confrontation.

Summary: A specialist street team trained to step into sensitive or escalated situations calmly and firmly.
Reports To: County Manager / Safeguarding Lead

  • Attend patrols where extra assertiveness is needed.

  • Experience in de-escalation or frontline work.
